Snickers and Faggie
9/5/17
this week was too awesome. so tuesday we had exchanges and Elder Park our district leader came to Lamoyne and Elder Johnson went to La Prarie and that was quite an adventure. right before Elder Johnson left he told me, "just try to be careful with Elder Park, he's an easy target." wasn't sure what he was talking about until i was driving Elder Park to our first appointment of the day, he cannot take sarcasm for the life of him. oh my for those of you that know me well, you will understand best that i had the most fun time of my entire life with this poor missionary. he's such an awesome elder haha but i can't even exaggerate how incredible that experience was. Elder Johnson and i have been doing object lessons with paper airplanes the past few weeks and we hadn't thrown any of them away so we had like a million paper airplanes all over the apartment in the bathroom in the kitchen bedroom everywhere, and no joke i convinced Elder Park that i couldn't see at all what he was talking about when he asked why there were paper airplanes literally covering the entire floor of our apartment. i also told him that Elder Johnson and i haven't had a companionship study my entire stay here and that instead of studying we like to see how many naps we can take in a day. haha his reaction was priceless ah man the world would be such a bummer if people like that didn't exist.
wednesday we had lunch with this super fun couple and she made us something called a walnut squash i think? and it had some interesting meat inside of it. oh and the squash was like the size of a decently sized human head. so that was great! and then she sent us off with a bunch of fruit from Niagara which is supposed to be like the best place to get fruit and it was so good, it literally tasted like candy. after them we went and met up with a new investigator Shaheen and that was great! he really likes the idea of modern day revelation and prophets, quite a lot of people we talk to actually, but like, who wouldn't. muslims especially though it seems like. but yeah that was great and then we met up with the family Mouhe and that was super fun as always.
oh my thursday was one of the most painful days of my entire life. like getting hit by a truck and cracking a femur, times like three thousand. but through prayer and faith, we made it through. so in the morning we had to head to the island for a training with president Philips and that was great but we forgot to eat breakfast so we ate on the island and Elder Johnson and i found a little bakery and he got a little cute pastry thing, that was cute. i found a huge loaf of bread for cheap so i bought that and ate the whole thing before the meeting so i was already pretty full. but since we were on the island we had to stop by la banquise to get some poutine and we both got ourselves a plate that could feed and satisfy a family of four. so at this point we were like ready to not move for a couple days because thats just what poutine does to you. but then we left the island and realized we had a dinner appointment in an hour which would be chill besides the fact that it was a latino family and they literally don't stop feeding you. and that is what they did, constantly bringing out more and more potatoes and pasta and ice cream and i was praying before every bite i wouldn't throw up. that meal alone would've filled us up for days. we got up to go get our bags to give a quick message and we bent down like pregnant ladies and i tried so hard not to but i accidentally let out the fattest greasiest moan when bending over and we both started crying we were laughing so hard cause we knew we were both dying. i got in the car and had to unbutton my pants to sit comfortably. so yeah, I'm pretty much fat now.
thursday night we had the opportunity to meet with Bernard's family which is always such an awesome experience. we finally found out their last name! Nadji Adjim, so sick. but yeah we were just talking with the son Arnel who is 17 and the tv was on and it was some police show so i pulled out my pictures from home and showed the pic of me with mom and dad at graduation where dad is wearing all the police gear and that was the biggest trap, immediately the whole family of nine had all my pictures and they were passing them around and trading and it looked like a pokemon card trade off convention or something. then they found one of me and zane and charter and taylor and bryce and landon and justin at homecoming doing our "tool pic" and oh my the whole family was dying pointing at all the face and laughing so hard talking to each other in songo and it was fantastic. then they found another one and again they were dying, the mom was crying she was laughing so hard, my self confidence was skyrocketing as you can imagine. ill attach their favourite photos. it was a great visit though, i was able to share a small message with them about the importance of family in songo and using pictures of me and my family and some of God and Jesus man, the spirit was too awesome. such an incredible family.
next day we basically did service all day haha it was awesome. we got to move this sister for the entire day and that was so fun! haha her apartment was way up the stairs of this skinny stairway so that was super fun to try and get the three refrigerators and sofas and everything down there. i was super grateful then for all the experience we've had moving, cause that could've been like fifty times more confusing. but yeah that was great! we went to krispy kreme afterwards to get some lunch, haha sorry mom we aren't so good at eating healthy. we split a dozen and i ate an oreo donut while drinking an oreo shake. i think i like traveled in time or something it was awesome.
saturday we continued with the service and went in the morning to Sister Mongeau's place to move everything out and we were talking with her husband while working and he was like, "have i given you a watch yet?" and i was like what haha apparently he used to work a ton with watches and now has like sooooo many nice expensive watches and he loves the missionaries i guess. so yeah he wouldn't let us pay and insisted we take one. they're actually such nice watches, like kinetic movement and legit makers and everything. so that was super nice of him! after moving them out we went straight to the Bezzoli's to paint their entire apartment with Xavier but he hadn't gotten it ready at all so we just moved everything to the middle of the rooms and covered with tarps, but that made it so we were super close to the wall when painting so we were covered in paint afterwards. that was super fun! finally things are looking a bit better for this family.
sunday was great! the family Nadji Adjim showed up again and loved it! oh and this insane rain storm came and that was crazy. apparently its coming from the hurricane in texas or something? not sure, but it was crazy and the weather has been super weird. like its cold now haha and i have no coat yet so we're going expensive coat shopping today. but yeah sunday was awesome. Elder Johnson and i were listening to a conversation going on with the sisters and some lady and they were talking about these people and the first name we heard was Snickers and i was like ha okay yeah thats pretty fantastic and then the next name was Faggie and i accidentally did one of those laughs thats so sudden it comes out of your nose before anything and it tends to carry some fun things from within the nose and that was fantastic.
the rest of the week was great, sorry such a long email. we finally met Joann's son Jacob who was the original investigator referall and that was great! she basically taught him everything for us right there haha shes too awesome. and they asked so many questions and it went too awesome. then we found these guys skateboarding outside and i talked with them for a while about skating and one of them said he'd love to teach me some tricks cause we are pretty dang sick and guess who should so happen to have a skateboard he doesn't even want, Xavier Bezzoli so I'm borrowing that and we're totally teaching this guy while he shows me some tricks haha.
but yeah, super awesome week!! couldn't be happier doing anything else!! this week I've learned a whole lot more about the importance of families and how incredibly lucky we are to have this awesome opportunity to lice with our families forever. God truly does love us so much! I've been able to see that with so many of the people we've been teaching and its been such a blessing! i love you all so much!! the church is true!!!
Hi there! Guess what? Kennadie got asked on a real-life date! Planned activities and everything! Weston took her, and Archie took kaitlynn and there were a few kids her age too. She had an awesome time. He texted me his temple recommend, and I told him that worked for me but that dad would need fingerprints or a retinal scan and he sends me a pic of his eyeball-we were cracking up. Speaking of pics-look at what elder Turner had to eat in Africa this past week-MOm

Haha, no you never talk about the negatives. You're adorable. Dad got called to a hanging (15 yr old boy from highland) so he's so sorry he can't email you. I read him your email and he loved it. He is double gloved so typing is impossible. :( but he says he loves you and all that good stuff. I love you too! love, mom
